What is Sound Healing?

Sound permeates every aspect of our lives. The wind rustling through the trees, water falling from the sky or flowing across rocks, the pop, crack and hiss as the fire burns, the singing of birds, and buzzing of insects all create the soundtrack of nature.
Sound healing practices date back thousands of years. They can promote relaxation and sleep and support physical and emotional well-being.
Drums, flutes, singing bowls, gongs, chimes and other instruments are often used to create a calming environment. The deep vibration of the instruments allows participants to release physical tension, encourages the brain to release feel-good endorphins and the bodily fluids to reset.
Sound healing may be included as part of music therapy practice, but not all sound healing practitioners are music therapists.

Deep vibrations produced from these instruments affect each persons’ body in different ways and, for some, they can bring up deep seated feelings and emotions. Music therapists have specific training and experience and can help participants address these emotions in a positive way.
Debi uses her voice, drums, flutes, a wide variety of instruments and her custom curated set of Himalayan singing bowls to create sound healing experiences for individuals and groups.
She incorporates her vast music therapy experience to play, sing, and guide meditations and healing experiences specific to the needs and intentions of the individual or group in a way that gently nurtures and encourages optimal emotional and physical health and wellness.
