How does a drum circle work?

The Drum Circle Facilitator creates a judgement free space where everyone is encouraged to play, regardless of skill or ability level.

Rhythmic entrainment is the ability of the brain and body to fall into sync with a strong rhythm. When participants entrain to the pulse, they are easily able to play along.

There are many different types of drum circles for specific purposes. Drum circles at medical and wellness centers and senior living facilities, support physical and neurological rehabilitation and emotional wellbeing.         

Recreational drum circles in parks, libraries and community centers give a wide variety of people the opportunity to play together and build community relationships. Corporate drum circles focus on non-verbal communication and help to build teamwork and morale, Diversity drum circles educate and demonstrate using music to build unity and appreciate differences.
